Ivory Isis Herbals Website Redesign
Established a sleeker website with better branding for my small business, Ivory Isis Herbals.

Ivory Isis Herbals
Ivory Isis Herbals needed a website redesign.
My initial design was old-fashioned but informative, but I thought I could do better. I tried a couple of different designs, but I felt like something was missing.
My original designs are cataloged below, at the bottom of the page.
This should give you some perspective of how far I came in the design of this website!
Demographic and Designs
Clients
The clients for Ivory Isis Herbals are typically women, ages 30 - 55.
I chose floral designs that included women in the images for the site, and stuck to greens and neutral colors in the redesign.
Minimalism
I wanted to make the site easy-to-read and access for someone who needed information quickly.
Since most of my products are sold in local businesses in Kansas City, I made sure this was a prominent page on the site.
Products
Eventually I’ll have a store on the website. For the moment, I put a few products front and center on the site, so that potential customers can see what I sell. I chose some very visually pleasing photos for a noticeable focal point.
Values
One component that sets me apart from other small businesses is my focus on important ingredients and little details regarding how I make my products. I also made this another key focal point on the site, so it’s easy to see why customers should choose my products.

Art Nouveau Site Design
Thoughts
For my site redesign, I wanted to create a natural feel for the site and experimented with Art Nouveau designs. I believe that the site was nice to look at, but ultimately the design elements started to become distracting from the information on the site.
Ultimately, Wix proved to be a less-than-ideal web host when they took down my website shop and did not explain the reason. They also increased my plan fees without adding any benefits for the options provided. I explored SquareSpace and decided that this would be a better host, with better minimalistic design options.
Floral Site Design
Thoughts
When I started out with Wix, I was captivated by some of their dynamic backgrounds that contained floral motifs. I thought they would be perfect for my business.
Eventually, after taking further UX design courses through Google and Uxcel, I started to feel like the site design looked too old-fashioned and was not dynamic enough. While I still enjoyed the floral motifs, I decided it was time for a site redesign.
